About the project

1. Automated technological system for roughing and cleaning of medical implants

Partners: FerroČrtalič d.o.o., MD Medicina d.o.o., Adler Ortho S.r.l.

Purpose / goal of the project: To develop a complex automated technological system that will enable the achievement of uniform roughness and cleaning of the surface of medical implants. We will ensure this by developing and integrating innovative technology for a significantly more even, controlled and precise roughing of the implant surface and efficient removal of surface impurities using dry ice/dry snow cleaning and integrated surface cleaning control in a new, innovative way. The use of the new system will result in an improved generation of medical implants that will be mechanically durable and safe and comfortable for the patient, causing significantly fewer post-operative complications and thus enabling the achievement of maximum implant life.

Project duration: 1.9.2020 - 31.8.2023

Co-financing amount: 365.414,81€

The investment is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund (www.eu-skladi.si)

2. Innovative bending system DURMA AD SERVO 30135

The goal of the proposed project is to introduce new technological and information solutions into the production process in the form of a computer numerically controlled (CNC) bending system, which has 6-axis movement of the rear supports.

The introduction of the new system will make it possible:

  • Automatic adjustment of the abutments according to the program and, as a result, easier bending of round segments into radii and cones.
  • Simulation of bends before bending itself and, as a result, early detection of defects, which means less waste and better quality of the finished products, which leads to an extended service life (improvement of material efficiency).
  • Improving energy efficiency (increasing speed, less congestion, fewer products of poorer quality and production of more dimensionally appropriate pieces).

Duration: 1.7.2022 - 18.10.2022

Total value of the project: 101.439,00€

Amount of co-financing: 69.541,00€

5. Dry & Wet Blaster - The first universal system for wet and dry sandblasting

The goal of the R&D project is to develop a Dry & Wet Blaster, a universal sandblasting system, which is the first on the global market to enable the implementation of both wet and dry sandblasting and media recycling in one system. With this product we're aimint at industrial niches where the processing of materials with both blasting techniques is urgently needed, which is especially common in the processing of high-strength steels in the automotive, aerospace and railway industries, mechanical engineering and toolmaking, and especially in the application of hard metal (PVD, etc.), ceramic and enamel coatings.

The R&D project is carried out as a cooperation between two companies:

FerroČrtalič d.o.o. is the project's leading partner and expert with many years of experience in the development and production of high-tech solutions for surface treatment, and EMO FRITE d.o.o. as an expert in the development and manufacture of advanced special frits and enamels, which are crucial for the proper mechanical and chemical protection of the system.

The investment is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund.
